Challenge
In 2009, 1123 homeless persons were between 18 and 29 years old. In 2015, the number was 1971 persons. A 76% increase.
Homelessness among young people is often associated with social vulnerability, which can make it difficult to find housing and/or be able to function in it.
Task
Home to All Alliance was established to tackle this problem and create durable concepts and solutions that address all challenges of homelessness among young people. The alliance’s vision is to ensure a home to all young people by 2025.
The Alliance brought together partners who would help fight homelessness, and transformed national and international analyzes into specific actions, strengthening communities for and with young homeless people. Together with experts, municipalities, businesses, educations, organizations, and the young homeless, the Alliance created solutions and concepts across sectors and close to the homeless persons themselves.
Results
Together with practitioners, researchers and the young people themselves, scalable concepts were created to give more young people a home.
The concept 'Home For All 24/7' was created to ensure that all young people have a home that takes into account the problems the young person has. The concept ensures that all young people feel at home, both physically and mentally, and is the starting point for the young person to make a profit, work with a fixed income and have the opportunity for education, community and friendships.
Today, Home for All Alliance is a self-governing organization with a self-driven secretariat.
